Founded in 2018, The Agency at Quinnipiac University provides students with hands-on learning opportunities, connecting them with real-world clients. Our team is equipped with the professional experience to manage projects in social media, graphic design, photo & video, and written content.

FACULTY ADVISORS

The Agency is currently under the direction of John Powers, Ph.D., Director of the Graduate Program in Interactive Media and Communications, and Alexander V. Laskin, Ph.D., Professor of Advertising and Public Relations.

John Powers, Ph.D

Co-CEO

John Powers, PhD, has vast experience as an educator, senior communications professional, administrator, writer, editor, and digital media practitioner. He is the Director of the Graduate Program in Interactive Media and Communications and Assistant Professor of Interactive Media and Design at
Quinnipiac University.

Dr. Powers has worked previously at the Yale University School of Nursing as their Director of Public Affairs and Communications, and is presently the president and CEO of the non-profit organization, Dominican Republic
Mission Team.

Alexander V. Laskin, Ph. D

Co-CEO

Alexander V. Laskin (Ph.D., University of Florida) is a professor of Advertising and Public Relations at Quinnipiac University with over 30 years of experience. He is author of over 100 publications, focused primarily on investor relations, reputation management, and emerging technologies. He recently published: Organizational Reputation Management: A Strategic Public Relations Perspective.

Laskin also served as a Fulbright Specialist, Page Legacy Scholar, Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Plank Center Fellow, and the People’s United Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Innovation Faculty Fellow. Prior to academia Laskin worked in investor relations, public relations, and marketing in the agency and corporate settings.
