ATHLETICS
SUMMARY
QU Athletics is a renowned aspect of Quinnipiac University and is responsible for supporting the school’s 21 Division I athletic teams. The Agency is working to develop media training and mock press conference events that provide the men and women on Quinnipiac’s arena sports teams, including both men’s and women’s ice hockey and basketball, with critical media experience. By introducing athletes to hard-hitting questions from Quinnipiac’s student media organizations and sports journalism students, they are better prepared for the spotlight.
BACKGROUND
QU Athletics works around the clock to support Quinnipiac’s many well-known sports teams, including the popular arena sports teams. QU Athletics is best known for working with the recent NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship team.
The men’s ice hockey championship win was Quinnipiac’s very first national championship title. It brought Quinnipiac’s roughly 10,000 students and the entire extended Bobcat community together and put Quinnipiac on the map. With the many other phenomenal teams the school has to offer, QU Athletics is working diligently to ensure the success of student athletes both in and out of the games.
